A woman who tipped more than $550,000 into her parents’ bank account over 11 years, believing she was buying the $1.1 million beachside home they bought for her, has lost a dramatic court bid to stop them selling it. But in a twist, the Supreme Court of Western Australia says Breanna Lane could still be entitled to a slice of the profits. The bitter family fight centres on a Swanbourne property just minutes from Cottesloe Beach, near Perth, which Ms Lane says she and her husband were led to believe would one day be theirs if they kept up monthly payments of $4300. Her parents, Alan and Wendy Briggs, who purchased the property in 2014, say that never happened.
