Award-winning Eaglemont home with striking design hits market

Positioned atop The Eyrie, this Eaglemont home showcases exceptional craftsmanship and an award-winning design. With a brief to create a contemporary architectural home that would remain relevant decades later, the vendors say they didn’t want something “overly fashionable that could quickly date”. Instead, they emphasised “strong, clean lines, generous proportions, natural materials and a very deliberate connection between the house, the gardens and the views”. The use of glass and straight lines was also part of the vision at 74 The Eyrie. “Glass was a major part of the design because natural light was extremely important to us,” the vendor says. “We wanted to be able to see the landscaped gardens from throughout the house and, equally, take advantage of the incredible views towards the city. “Straight lines, cantilevered forms and a sense of architectural sharpness were also important elements of the brief. We drew a lot of inspiration from the work of Spanish architecture studio A-cero, particularly their use of bold horizontal forms, glass, natural materials and cantilevered structures.” MORE: $30m+ Melb’s most expensive sale since April Hi-tech pods the future of granny flats...
