Real estate horror stories sought for parliamentary inquiry

Submissions have opened for a parliamentary inquiry into the real estate industry. South Australians with real estate horror stories are being urged to share their experiences to help make the industry fairer and more transparent. Those who have experienced problems with real estate agents, property managers and other professionals in the industry can make submissions to a new parliamentary inquiry until October 23. It will investigate a range of issues, including underquoting, inaccurate appraisals, non-disclosure of building faults, rent bidding and unreasonable rental inspection reports. It will also consider whether existing regulations, codes of practice and dispute resolution mechanisms are adequately protecting consumers.
