Rare over-50s development completes facilities before half its homes are sold

The finishing touches are being placed on one of Moreton Bay’s only communities for people over 50 – but more than half of its brand-new homes are still up for grabs. The Halcyon Serrata development in Burpengary East is just weeks away from finishing its public park, the last of the project’s major facilities for its 150 residents. More than 70 homes have been sold since development began last year, but more than 100 still remain in the 250-home community. More than half the homes at Halcyon Serrata, one of Moreton Bay’s only over 50s communities, are still up for grabs – but all its facilities are nearly complete. Developer Stockland held an opening in July for the development’s recently finished clubhouse, ‘The Lodge’: a resort-style facility and social hub available to each member. Stockland Development Director Andrew Astorquia said he was proud his team was able to complete all the civil works for Halcyon Serrata well before typical expectations. “Homeowners have only been there a couple months, and they’ve already got everything they need, which is rare for these types of communities,” he said. “People aren’t waiting to have their lives start again.” The community’s clubhous...
