Historic Eurama Castle ruins consumed by nature now up for sale

A ruined home in Faulconbridge has returned to the market for sale. A once grand Sydney manor – that turned into a crumbling ruin of graffitied walls and stonework pierced by tree roots afer a fire ripped through the building – has come up for sale for an eye watering $2 million. The Blue Mountains property, known to many locals as a “ruined castle”, fell into disrepair after a long history. Located approximately 45 minutes’ drive from Parramatta, the property was once used as a country retreat from the “Sydney miasmas”. The castle was built around 1880 and originally called “Weemala”, which is an Aboriginal name understood to mean “an expansive view” according to local history pages. The property has an ornamental lake created by damming a gully, small pools hand-cut into rock and extensive old walking trails with some going to Numantia Falls.
