7/38 Macleay St, Potts Point has incredible harbour views.
Australian Olympic Committee Vice President and Sydney to Hobart winner Matt Allen AM has listed his luxury Potts Point apartment with a $15m+ price guide.
Allen, who’s currently in Milan for the Winter Olympics, has now settled on his $29m penthouse in the Billyard Ave development in Elizabeth Bay, meaning the whole-floor apartment in the exclusive Dorchester building at 7/38 Macleay St is surplus to his needs.
The former head of UBS Japan and owner of Sydney to Hobart winning ocean racer Ichi Ban had bought the apartment for $8.9m in 2017, ahead of his former home on the Darling Point waterfront selling for $60m in 2022 to medical entrepreneur Glen Haifer.
Allen and James Mayo also took line honours in the 2025 Sydney to Hobart on Master Lock Comanche.

Allen has listed the three-bedroom, three-bathroom seventh floor apartment with triple parking with Richardson and Wrench Elizabeth Bay/Potts Point agent Jason Boon, who’d sold him the new penthouse, alongside Geoff Cox.
“This is a whole floor apartment in the Dorchester with views in both ways, which is very hard to get,” says Boon.

“You’ve got the Bridge and Opera House in one way and the harbour in the other.”
The residence with 280sqm of living space features timeless interiors by Ian Halliday, with limestone and marble finishes.

The open-plan living and dining areas, full of natural light and with bespoke joinery, have a north-easterly aspect and lead to one of two terraces.

The Gaggenau-appointed galley kitchen connects to a second living space.
Two of the bedrooms open to the western terrace, one with ensuite, while the main comes with walk-through wardrobes, a luxurious ensuite and eastern balcony access.
