Late actor Shannen Doherty’s Malibu mansion has been taken off the market, just weeks after the price was slashed by more than $1 million (US$750,000).

Doherty, who died after a lengthy battle with cancer on July 13 2024 at the age of 53, purchased the Californian home in 2004 for $3.5m (US$2.5m).

The home allowed her to escape from the intensity and fast paced Hollywood, becoming her personal “sanctuary” particularly during her illness.

The Charmed star lived there for more than a decade, with the home first put on the market by a close friend of Doherty’s, Compass real estate agent Christ Cortazzo just over a year after she died, according to Realtor.com.

The home was originally listed for $13.4m (US$9.5m), which was quickly reduced to $13.3m (US$9.45m).

In September 2025, a further $986,990 (US$700,000) was cut from the asking price, bring the figure down to $12.34m (US$8.75m).

Now, the property has been taken off the market all together, only six months after it was first listed, and it is not clear whether there are plans to relist it in the future.

Mr Cortazzo, who met Doherty in the 1990s after she viewed one of his listings, was named as the executor of her estate.

When the property first hit the market, Mr Cortazzo told the Wall Street Journal that she fell in love with the elegance and privacy of the estate.

“When you’re a notable figure, your home becomes your sanctuary,” he said, adding that Doherty would regularly host her “very close, intimate circle of friends” at the house, where she threw an Italian night every week, as well as a dancing nights.

Shannon Doherty’s mansion has been taken off the market, over a year since she died from a cancer battle.

The home has five bedrooms with 500 square metres of internal living space and underwent an extensive renovation in 2018 after the property was damaged in the Woolsey Fire that year.

The home is located outside of the Malibu area that was impacted by the January 2025 California wildfires, Mr Cortazzo added, although he said that buyers are being more cautious about the kinds of properties they are purchasing in the area, explaining that many are taking steps to ensure that homes are safeguarded from potential fire damage.
