SA seeks public input on short stay accommodation register

The SA government is asking for public feedback to help shape a register for short-stay accommodation properties. South Australians are being encouraged tell the state government how they think its planned introduction of a register for short-stay accommodation properties should take shape. A consultation period runs until October 30, with industry and community feedback used to inform how a proposed registered is implemented. It will also be used to consider further reforms, including codes of conduct for short-stay rental properties to better mitigate impacts such as noise complaints. Booking platforms, including Airbnb and Stayz, will also be included in the consultation. A potential register will ensure the state government can support the sector while establishing levers it can pull to address long-term rental supply imbalances by having greater oversight.
