Documents lodged with Gold Coast City Council show developer Pask has applied for amendments to its upcoming Ocean Place tower in Burleigh Heads to cater to the buyer’s lavish upgrades. According to the application lodged in May, the contract of sale is conditional on council approving a 4.2m height extension to transform the top of the building at 216 The Esplanade. If approved, the crowning jewel will expand into a triple-storey super-penthouse, adding a recessed level increasing the tower’s overall height to 68.38m. Town planners described the spectacular upper level as a private lifestyle retreat, comprising “ultra-luxury wellness facilities and an infinity swimming pool overlooking the ocean”.
