In the eleventh hour before the trial was scheduled to begin, Zillow and Redfin reached a “resolution” with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), as well as attorneys general from five states over their antitrust claims related to the $100 million multifamily rental syndication deal executed by Zillow and Redfin in early 2025. The companies announced the resolution in court Monday morning. In a post on its Front Porch blog, Zillow said its partnership with Redfin will “continue unchanged and the listings syndication across Zillow, Trulia, HotPads, Rent.com, ApartmentGuide, Redfin and Realtor stays intact.” Additionally, as part of this resolution, both Zillow and Redfin will also begin to offer standalone multifamily advertising products. Zillow has noted that it will launch this product next year. “When we launched our syndication agreement with Redfin, the goal was straightforward: help renters find more homes,” Zillow’s blog post stated. “So, our partnership with Redfin is a solution to that problem.
