Zillow is claiming that the discrimination lawsuit filed against it by former employee Kenneth Brantley is a “transparently meritless attempt by Mr. Brantley to deflect from his failures by blaming everyone and anyone else for his poor job performance.” In an unopposed motion to stay the lawsuit pending arbitration filed on Friday, Zillow denies the claims made by Brantley in his suit. Filed in early August in U.S. District Court in Denver, Brantley, a 44-year-old, white male who was terminated by Zillow in early September 2025, on the day he returned from medical leave, claims that his team “consistently ranked among the top performers in his channel” and that he “received a glowing mid-year performance review praising his operational rigor, including a promotion in rank and a raise, just weeks before a pretextual disciplinary notice.” Despite his success at Zillow, Brantley claims he was “subjected to a sustained pattern of discriminatory harassment and retaliation,” including his firing in September of last year.
