‘Unliveable’ Soldiers Hill home now on sale for $2.2m pad

This heritage-listed Soldiers Hill home blends original features with contemporary sophistication. The remarkable three-level residence that now stands on the large 1020sq m block at 10 Clarendon St looked very different when the vendor, Renee Weyers, and her husband purchased the home. “In its original state, it was essentially a bit of a dog’s breakfast and had been deemed unliveable,” says Renee. “The kitchen didn’t even have a floor, and there were only three bedrooms, all of which needed significant work.” Due to the home’s heritage listing, the planning approval process took nearly two years, with a set of requirements the redesign had to meet. “We had to create a clear distinction between the old and the new,” explains Renee. “The new home was built by Weycon P/L and designed by Luke Jennings from Project Now.
