Universal Power House: One of Australia’s most unusual homes

It’s one of the most unusual properties in Australia, that has been in and out of the public eye for decades. Known as the Universal Power House, Mount Universe or Saturn’s Rings, this bizarre home in Sydney’s south west was once the headquarters of a ‘spiritual movement’ known as the Universal Power World Society. According to reports, construction on the home, which recently again rose to prominence, was begun by Polish immigrant Stefan Dzwonnik way back in 1979. Picture: Supplied Dzwonnik had planned the property, which sits on a hill above Badgally Rd, Eschol Park, to become the “mecca for a worldwide movement directed toward a better life on Earth”. The property’s unique design is said to be modelled on the rings of planet Saturn and Dzwonnik had designed the upper floors to be for his family, while the remaining two levels were reserved for members of his society.
