UAD 3.6 is more than a form change, and lenders don’t have until November 2 to get ready. Files sold to the GSEs need to be completed in the UAD 3.6 format well before the mandate, which means orders need to start moving through this process in early October. That leaves a narrow window to make a choice: absorb the added time, inspection burden and workflow uncertainty in-house, or hand it to an AMC already running a tested process. Hybrid appraisals are that process. Hybrids already meet UAD 3.6 property data requirements and apply more technology to streamline the inspection. They are a known solution in a moment full of unknowns. For lenders thinking through their options, hybrid appraisals deserve a closer look, not as an alternative to traditional appraisals, but as the model already built for what UAD 3.6 requires.
