Exclusive: Dark Matter acquires House Numbers’ agentic AI platform

Dark Matter Technologies has acquired the artificial intelligence platform and related intellectual property of House Numbers, a venture capital-backed AI company, adding technology designed to automate mortgage lending tasks and expand its AI capabilities. Announced Friday, the deal brings House Numbers’ AI agent platform and the team behind it into Dark Matter’s home lending technology business. House Numbers co-founder and CEO Jeff Levinsohn joins Dark Matter as chief AI officer, while co-founders Arthur Granado and Benjamin Hoffman join as vice president of engineering and vice president of AI adoption and enablement, respectively. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Founded in 2021, House Numbers developed AI agents that monitor loan files for changes, work through loan conditions, make recommendations, and communicate with borrowers and lenders by email, text and voice. The platform has been in production for two years and has processed loans for more than 100 lenders, according to Dark Matter.
