Clinton Taylor of the mega wealthy wine family has sold his luxury Vaucluse mansion for close to $14m and bought a duplex in North Bondi for half that.
Clinton Taylor of Taylors Wines has sold his Vaucluse mansion with iconic views for $14m and bought in North Bondi for $7m.
The six-bedroom Dalley Ave home with views from the Rose Bay beachfront to the city skyline, Opera House and Harbour Bridge, hit the market last September via Oliver Lavers and Gavin Rubinstein of TRG with a $12m guide.
The TRG duo had no comment but the family residence is understood to have sold in December for about $14m. A caveat on the title says the purchaser was Shan Yu.
Records show the property had last traded for $1.2m in 1997.

Now, sources advise Taylor, who is part of the third generation of Taylor family winemakers and its company director and general manager of winery operations, has picked up a five-bedroom, five-bathroom duplex with pool and ocean views in Macleay St, North Bondi for about $7m.
Ray White Double Bay’s Warren Ginsberg and Andrew John, who had been guiding $6.2m, had no comment when contacted.
The Taylor family are reportedly worth more than $200m, with Clinton Taylor, 54, who is understood to have split with his wife Justine, one of the directors and owners of the winery founded in 1969 in the Clare Valley in South Australia.
Taylor snapped up the duplex, which had a $6.2m guide, for about $7m.
It has ocean views.
Taylor’s new pad is described as a “as new duplex” and a “secluded family santuary of rare contemporary refinement, perfectly positioned to capture soaring ocean outlooks”.
Built from concrete, steel and timber, the central open-plan family zone flows through wall-to-wall bifolds to a wraparound sundeck and Travertine-edged pool.
Upper level accommodation includes three main suites, two with private balconies.
Among its highlights are a centrepiece marble and Corian kitchen with Bosch and Miele appliances, a large home office, and bathrooms with curved walls.
