Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs captain Stephen Crichton and wife Leone have bought a family home in Western Sydney over the summer break, ahead of the couple announcing they are expecting their first child, a daughter.
They did the gender reveal balloon in the front yard.
The couple’s significant life events came as the Bulldogs confirmed that Crichton’s contract had been extended until the end of the 2031, having led his team to higher ladder finishes – sixth in 2024 and third last year.

The couple have spent $2.1m on a modernised home in Greystanes, around 20km from the Bulldogs Belmore headquarters.
Their updated home has four bedrooms, a home office, and formal and informal living and dining areas. Its Caesarstone gas kitchen has 60mm stone island bench tops and integrated Kleenmaid stainless steel appliances, including a built-in espresso maker and built-in air fryer. The lounge has direct access to a covered alfresco with a charcoal and gas built-in barbecue and fridge.

The house had been listed without success in 2024 and in 2022, when seeking offers over $1.9m.
The 1970s home had last sold for $481,500 in 2009, before its renovation.
Proptrack calculates the Greystanes’ median four-bedroom house is at a record $1,480,500, across 99 sales over the past year with an average 26 days time on market. The median is up 11 per cent annually.
Crichton and his wife were high-school sweethearts who married shortly after the end of the season in 2024.

The 25-year old retains a renovated 1950s Tregear home, which he bought as a first homebuyer in 2022 for $848,500 when he was with the Panthers. Crichton was born in Apia, Samoa and moved with his parents, father, pastor Va’a and mother Sina, to New Zealand when Crichton was two before relocating to Australia aged three.
Crichton played Australian rules during primary school, but when he attended Patrician Brothers’ College in Blacktown in year 7 he started playing league.

The outside back played his junior footy at St Clair Comets before making his debut for Penrith in the 2019 NRL season at just 18.
Crichton, who secured a 79 per cent goal kicking success rate last season, joined the Bulldogs in 2024 on a four-year deal after three premiership wins at the Penrith Panthers.
