Kim Jones is back in town, with her late mum’s unit her first listing

The leading lady of Eastern Suburbs real estate, the late Di Jones, knew a great property even before she laid eyes on it. Despite living in Woollahra for most of her life, and building her pioneering business there, Di saw the potential of The Residence Hyde Park in Darlinghurst. “She was walking past it and they were selling off the plan. “She went in and bought one! I said ‘Mum, I’ll give you a year and you’ll be begging to move back to Woollahra’ but she loved it,” said Kim Jones, Di Jones’ daughter. Inspired by the success of her mother, who helped shape the face of Sydney real estate when she launched Sydney’s first female-driven agency in Woollahra in 1992, Kim has become a highly successful real estate agent in her own right, in both Sydney and for the past five years in Byron Bay where she broke records and achieved some of the area’s top sales.
