John Singleton to ‘put Harry Triguboff out of business’

Legendary advertising man-turned-property developer John Singleton has seen quick sales after kicking off the marketing of his latest Central Coast project, 16 luxury apartments on the Caroline Bay foreshore.

The East Gosford project, 49Caroline, is being developed in partnership with the Trevor Loewensohn-led financier, Alceon.

Now priced from $2,295,000 to $8,995,000, the apartments will be a mix of two-three-and four-bedroom residences.

The waterfront complex designed by Mosman-based architect Enrique Blanco de Cordova of deBlanco Studio sits a 2955sq m Caroline St holding. John Deiri’s construction firm JDC Property is building the project with a late-2027 completion schedule.

Gittoes agents Stephen Gittoes and Richard Faulkner are marketing the project as “shaped by an architectural philosophy that balances timeless elegance with contemporary coastal living”. Already there are three exchanged apartments, with another under offer. “The inquiry has been fantastic,” Mr Gittoes said.

“When John builds something, he does it right.”

The first project of the John Singleton Group was Bonython Tower, completed in 2019 at Gosford.

The most recent resale in the 14-storey complex was $550,000 for a one-bedroom apartment that first sold off the plan at $462,000 in 2017.

A two-bedroom apartment sold last October for $700,000, having first sold for $652,800.

The initial Bonython Tower luxury penthouses set suburb records when selling for $1.6m-plus.

Recently the district saw a $7m penthouse sale in the Alceon-completed Rumbalara Residences.

Ravello, on the old Monti’s Ashore Fish & Chips site at Port Frederick, was Singleton’s second development.

He sold one of three penthouses overlooking Brisbane Water off the plan for $2.7m in 2019, a then-record price for the area.

The nine-storey Ravello on Masons Parade has seen more recent sales as high as $3.5m. “I have left it a bit late to turn into a property developer,” Singleton told The Daily Telegraph in early 2020.

“But I could put Harry Triguboff out of business.”

While news.com.au reported this week that Singleton was recovering from a recent cardiac episode, his next project in the pipeline is The Lodge, a luxury “10-star” lodge and restaurant complex on the Pacific Highway at Mount White, designed to complement his existing Saddles restaurant.
