Fairway Home Mortgage rehires Jeff Gilmore, Matt Gray team

Fairway Home Mortgage announced on Tuesday that it has welcomed back Jeff Gilmore, Matt Gray and their 28-member Fairway Custom Mortgage team in Matthews, North Carolina, after two years at another company. The team, which previously worked at Fairway from 2010 to 2024, returned in September, the company confirmed in a press release. RETR data shows that the team has recorded 418 loans and $125.5 million in volume year to date as of Aug. 10. That compares with 814 units and $251.4 million in volume in 2025, and 708 units and $218 million in 2024, both of which represent full-year totals. “When we originally left Fairway, it wasn’t because we had stopped believing in the company or the people,” said Gilmore, a Fairway regional manager. “We saw an opportunity to grow and build something and thought it was worth pursuing.
