Ex-Essendon chairman David Evans secures Toorak pad

Prominent businessman and former Essendon chairman David Evans has secured a luxurious Toorak house in a deal worth more than $13m.

Mr Evans is the financial services firm E&P Financial Group Limited’s non-executive chairman.

In 2006, he joined the Bombers board before serving as chairman from 2009 to 2013.

Previously, Mr Evans worked at Goldman Sachs JBWere’s Private Wealth business, now known as JBWere.

He’s also been a director at Seven West Media and Healthscope, and is ex-chair of Cricket Australia’s Investment Committee.

Mr Evans’ home features a built-in bar, a kitchen with marble benches and Wolf appliances, and a main bedroom with a gas fire, dressing room and ensuite.

The abode showcases a limestone-paved terrace with a built-in barbecue and circular-shaped, heated spa and pool.

RT Edgar director Jeremy Fox, who had the listing with fellow agent Jack Edgar, declined to comment on the sale or the buyer.

However, Mr Fox said there were still transactions happening at Melbourne’s top end, despite the colder weather and school holidays traditionally leading to a quieter market.
