Builder Jiayun Lee has been in Darwin for 20 years, but it wasn’t until 2014 that he finally built his family’s dream home at Muirhead. Working in residential and commercial construction meant the father-of-two, and his wife Sally Wang, knew exactly what they wanted to create from scratch. “I built the house myself,” he said. “It’s the only house I have built for our family, and it was completed at the end of 2014, so we moved in early 2015.” The five-bedroom home at 4 Delaney St, Muirhead, was made from scratch by builder Jiayun Lee to be the perfect home for his family. Mr Lee said their expansive five-bedroom, three-bathroom residence had been the perfect place to raise their children, Sophia, now 20, and Jonathon, now 18. But with both now at university – one in Melbourne and the other in Brisbane – the couple decided it was time to move on. “We are moving to Stuart Park,” Mr Lee said. “I would say it is more of an upsize but it’s also closer to my wife’s work. She has a restaurant in the city.” The two-storey home is now up for sale, with the original owners handing the home to the next family who needs it. But it is not without some sadness that they are selling their family ...
