CoStar Group has named European real estate portal executive Felix Kusch president of Homes.com as the company pushes to make the site the top residential real estate platform in the U.S., the company announced on Monday. Kusch joins the Arlington, Virginia-based firm from Europe, where he most recently served as CEO of Immoweb, the top real estate portal in Belgium, and Immowelt, the second-largest portal in Germany. CoStar said he will oversee the Homes.com leadership team and report directly to CoStar Group founder and CEO Andy Florance. “Felix has run two of Europe’s top real estate portals and beaten some of the toughest competitors in the industry to do it, that’s exactly the experience we want leading Homes.com,” Florance said in the announcement. “Our model and his are the same: you win by putting the property and agent first, not by selling agent’s leads to multiple agents.” Before running Immoweb and Immowelt, Kusch led M&A work at Axel Springer Digital focused on European real estate marketplaces and served on the boards of Meilleurs Agents and Lamudi. “I’ve watched what CoStar Group has built with Homes.com from across the Atlantic, and it’s the same fight I’ve spen...
