Celeste Barber and Api Robin recently settled on a beachfront apartment

Aussie comedian Celeste Barber and husband Api Robin stand to carve up a lucrative beachfront portfolio following their split after two decades together.

Barber, 43, is known globally for her razor-sharp social media satire, while Robin, 52, announced the separation online, changing his Instagram bio to “Formerly Hot Husband”.

Barber, who has long referred to him as “Hot Husband”, is yet to make her own statement.

The break-up comes just months after the couple settled on a dream apartment in Rockpool, the newly completed trophy building overlooking Rainbow Bay in Coolangatta.

They bought off the plan in 2021 for about $3.8m and, according to local agents, could fetch close to $6m if they chose to sell.

Pezet Matheson agent Mitchell Lambert, who recently sold a same-floor unit to former Aussie netball captain Laura Geitz for $4.65m, said Barber and Robin’s residence was on the preferred side of the building with an outlook that commands a premium.

“It is on the superior side of the building in an incredible position looking out to Snapper Rocks with stunning views over the Norfolk pines, and you’ll see people like Mick Fanning surfing every day.”

“In some cases, these apartments are re-selling for close to double. Conservatively, you could say at least 50 to 60 per cent more,” Mr Lambert said.

Rockpool’s subtropical modern design comprises soft curved forms, full-height glazing, and natural materials complementing its coastal environment.

Property features include expansive open-plan living and dining areas anchored by a lavish marble kitchen, leading out to a balcony with built-in barbecue.

Mr Lambert said the Joe Adsett-designed project had “brought much acclaim to the area”, which he described as the “next best place” to invest.

Queensland’s southern-most tip was maturing rapidly, he added, with new restaurants and night spots bolstering the world-class surf, while luxury developments such as Abedian and Co’s Greenmount Residences were drawing cashed-up buyers.

It is understood the newly separated couple has no immediate plans to list the property.

Their holdings also include another oceanview unit in nearby Tweed Heads, purchased for $1.175m in 2019.

Property records indicate today’s value could be up to $2.05m, with PropTrack data showing the suburb’s median apartment price jumped 26.4 per cent in the past year alone.

Barber and Robin have also been active on the selling side, offloading a former family home on the NSW Central Coast before the pair headed north.

The five-bedroom Long Jetty house sold for $1.045m in April 2025, about double what they paid a decade earlier. It had been rented since 2019 when they moved to Tweed.

The couple shares two sons, Lou and Buddy, and Robin has two children from a previous marriage.
