Pitt Point Cottage, a Scotland Island home with private beach, has been listed for sale with Lachlan Elder at LJ Hooker Mona Vale issuing a $4m guide.
The beach was the location where the former prime minister Bob Hawke and his biographer, Blanche d’Alpuget announced their love in a 60 Minutes interview filmed in early 1995 on the island’s northernmost tip.
Viewers have likely never forgotten the scenes of Blanche applying suntan lotion on Bob on the beach, while staying next door at the house known as Pitt Point, a Ken Woolley-designed retreat built by Brian Pettit.

Hawke and d’Alpuget married in July that year at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Double Bay, after he had divorced Hazel, in a relationship that lasted until his death in 2019.
