Property bargains might be getting harder to find, but they haven’t disappeared – with one veteran investor claiming the lower end of the market is still holding strong particularly for buyers prepared to look beyond major capitals. B.Invested Founder Nathan Birch, who has built personal portfolio of over 400 properties, says buyers can still find “bargains” offering both strong cash flow and value. Mr Birch recently settled on the purchase of eight units in Port Pirie, South Australia for just $1m, at a time when the state has been labelled the least affordable in previous months. The unit block at Anzac Road Port Pirie comprises eight units ($125,000 each) said to be representing $50,000 positive cash flow per annum. “I’d say most of the (properties) I buy today would be between $200,000 and $350,000,” he said.
