The final result came in nearly $100,000 more than the $700,000 reserve.
Mr Tong said the buyers, a young couple, loved the side access to a garage and the outdoor covered patio with a wood fire heater and television.
“They were most excited about having their son’s first birthday in the home,” he added.
Mr Stuart said that he and his wife had been won over by the three-bedroom house at 11 Christina Court when they first saw it because it offered them an opportunity to add value while living in a “beautiful area”.
Apart from cosmetic updates, they have re-landscaped the garden and installed the outdoor entertainers’ space.
The house is close to cafes, parklands, schools, public transport and freeway access.
Owners Mark and Melissa Stuart added the outdoor entertainers’ area and re-did the garden.
Inside the entertainers set-up with a woodfire heater and television.
One of Mr Stuart’s favourite past times is watching football next to the wood fire heater while barracking for “the greatest football team of all”, Geelong.
“There’s lots of memories such as when we put the kids’ hand prints in the concrete we laid,” Mr Stuart said.
He and his wife are upsizing within Werribee now their children are aged six and nine years old.
Mr Stuart said selling the home was emotional but their family was excited about the opportunity to update their next residence.
“We love adding value as a bit of a project and the moving on,” he added.
There’s also a woodfire heater inside the residence.
There’s two living areas and two bathrooms, including an ensuite off the main bedroom.
Mr Tong has managed the marketing campaigns for one of their former homes, plus a vacant block of land they sold.
Although Mr and Ms Stuart thought their current house might not be quite ready to put on the market when it came time to sell, Mr Tong advised them it was good to go.
“He basically walked into this house and we said, ‘It’s not ready yet’ but he said, ‘We could sell it now’ – which I attribute to my wife’s cleanliness,” Mr Stuart said.
The home features multiple living areas, and a main bedroom with a walk-in wardrobe and an ensuite.
