Viral Brooki Bakehouse founder makes shock move after global deal

Brooki Bakehouse founder Brooke Bellamy has listed her Camp Hill home for sale with Sarah Hackett of Place New Farm.

The woman behind viral cookie brand, Brooki Bakehouse, is making a fresh start on the home front in the wake of last year’s recipe scandal.

Baking sensation Brooke Bellamy, and her husband, Justice, have put their 19th-century Brisbane home on the market only a year-and-a-half after purchasing it, and are rumoured to be moving overseas.

Mrs Bellamy found herself at the centre of plagiarism allegations last year when Recipe Tin Eats cook Nagi Maehashi accused her of copying recipes — accusations she denied.

International travellers departing Brisbane can now enjoy Brooki Bakehouse’s cult-favourite cookies on the go, with the viral social media sensation unveiling the world’s first Brooki Bakehouse cookie vending machine, at Brisbane Airport. Picture: Sarah Marshall.

But, it did nothing to hurt the business, with the Brisbane baker planning to open 100 stores globally after securing funding from royalty in Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.

Mrs Bellamy, who has over 2 million followers on social media, secured a $25 million investment late last year from Arada — a property developer owned by Saudi Arabian royalty.

The couple welcomed their first child in 2024 and delivered a second baby announcement in April last year — in the midst of the recipe scandal — that Brooke was four months pregnant.

Now, with two young children in tow, they have decided to sell their five-bedroom, three-bathroom house in Watson St, Camp Hill.

She has declined to comment on the move.

Records show the pair paid $3.6m for the property in June 2024 just before selling their previous home in Hawthorne for $1.5m in July that year.

Sarah Hackett of Place New Farm is marketing the property via a top offers campaign closing March 11.

“It’s an incredible position, and from the street it’s just so pretty,” Mrs Hackett said. “The street appeal is what first captured the current owners.

“The owners have loved the neighbours and will really miss that sense of community — it’s so close to the city and work, yet incredibly quiet.”

The house on a 916 sqm block was built in 1898 and has since been modernised to include a pool and multiple entertainment spaces.

It still retains original features such as timber floors, high ceilings, and VJ walls.

An open-plan living and dining area is on the upper level, featuring a large, farmhouse-style kitchen, and leading to a covered deck.

Three of the bedrooms, including the ensuited master with a fireplace, is on this same level.

Downstairs, another living area with its own fireplace links to a covered patio and the backyard, along with two more bedrooms, a second full bathroom and a dedicated study.

The median house price in Camp Hill is about $1.8m, according to PropTrack.
