United Wholesale Mortgage (UWM) announced Tuesday that it has launched a Mortgage Matchup plugin for ChatGPT that’s designed to connect borrowers with independent mortgage brokers across the country. The plugin, available through the ChatGPT mobile app and website, allows users to search for mortgage originators in their area, calculate how much home they can afford and access mortgage calculators, a glossary of common mortgage terms and educational content. “Consumers expect instant access to any and all information, the mortgage industry should be no different,” Sarah DeCiantis, chief marketing officer at UWM, said in a statement. “Launching the Mortgage Matchup ChatGPT plugin is another step towards making the process of finding a mortgage expert easier, faster and more personalized.” The tool allows users to search for loan originators based on specific expertise and characteristics, including whether they are bilingual, specialize in a particular loan type or have strong client reviews.
