Urgent US homes repairs: Owners highlight process

A growing army of Lennar homeowners has flooded TikTok with footage of fractured ceilings, tile floors breaking apart and closets furred with mould — racking up millions of views and turning one of America’s biggest builders into a punchline. The loudest of the bunch is a Celina, Texas, homeowner who posts as TexpatBBQ, whose walk-through of his Dallas-area house has rocketed past 10.6 million views. He follows a fissure climbing the brick from the foundation toward the roofline about an inch wide, then heads inside to show damage snaking through a bathroom, the New York Post reports. “And here is where the bath faucet is literally coming off the wall,” he says. “We have cracks in the ceiling. We have doors that don’t shut.” He says he’s spent a year pressing Lennar to act while the home is still covered by its 10-year warranty. After the company sent inspectors, he says, he got an email that read “it is not a structural concern. It is purely cosmetic.” “Apparently, being able to see through the wall is not serious,” he said with sarcasm. He ends by asking the builder “when are you going to do the right thing and fix our home?” MORE: ‘Disaster’: 81yo loses home in $39k bill shock ‘...
