For buyers, the decision often comes down to whether they will use what they are paying for — and how often. New research by realestate.com.au, which surveyed buyers of new homes and people considering buying new, shows three features stand out. Nearly half – or 47% – said a swimming pool was worth paying higher strata or body corporate fees for, followed by a gym at 43% and security services at 42%. Other extras were less compelling. Onsite car share was nominated by just 12% of respondents, while a building app with booking or control systems and a communal laundry each attracted 11%.
