"The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives" is heading to the Golden State, where Hulu has announced it will launch a spinoff series of the hit reality show that will be set in Orange County, and star a host of local influencers, including Bobbi Althoff, Aspyn Ovard, and Avery Woods.

The streaming platform released the original "The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives" in 2024 and it has gone on to be a huge hit for Hulu—while also sparking plenty of off-screen drama, largely involving its star, Taylor Frankie Paul.

Hulu's new "The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives: Orange County" will follow a similar cast formula, with the streaming giant enlisting a host of "dynamic young mothers," many of whom have a significant presence on social media.

In addition to Althoff, Ovard, and Woods, the cast includes: Salomé Andrea, McCall DaPron, Chandler Higginson, Ashleigh Pease and Madison Fisher (née Bontempo).

Interestingly, many of the cast members, while located in Orange County, are not practicing members of the Mormon church, with reports noting that Althoff, Woods, and Ovard are not actively involved in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

The logline for the spinoff reads, “A new group of dynamic young mothers in Orange County collide in a community where beliefs are not just their religion; they are their identity. While some defend their way of life, fighting against modernity, others embrace change, becoming a platform to disrupt the status quo.

"Scandals and secrets will be revealed, facades will crumble, and families and friendships will change forever on both sides of the battlefield as this group of strong, game-changing influencers comes together to build their answer to #MomTok. This is ‘The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives: Orange County.’”

Dapron, who is the sister of the original "The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives" star Mayci Neeley, revealed to her followers on April 22 that she had been keeping a "secret."

Neeley, 31, has been one of the original members of the reality TV show since it was released, alongside, Paul, Jen Affleck, Whitney Leavitt, Layla Taylor, Demi Engemann, Jessi Draper, Mikayla Matthews and Miranda McWhorter.

Althoff shared the news on her Instagram page on April 22, branding it the "really good reality TV show."

Althoff, 28, rose to social media fame in 2022 with her podcast—although she later shot to stardom after interviewing rapper Drake, a chat that sparked a wave of romance rumors that she has vehemently denied.

She later divorced her spouse, Cory Althoff, with whom she shares two daughters. She later dated Sean Murphy-Bunting and Ty Hawkins.

Meanwhile, Ovard was at the center of headlines in 2024 when she filed for divorce from her husband Parker Ferris, the same day she revealed the news of the birth of their third child. The online star had cultivated an enormous YouTube following with her daily vlogs in which she documented her life with Ferris and their daughters.

The online star, who had been living in Utah with Ferris, then announced that she was relocating to California, where she purchased a stunning Newport Beach house for $4.65 million in July 2024.

Speaking about her new TV project on Instagram, Ovard gushed about the opportunity, writing: “15 years with you all and now we are going to be on Hulu 2026!!!!!!!!!!”

The news of the spinoff comes amid controversy surrounding the original series, which has seen Paul and her former partner, Dakota Mortensen, wrapped up in a legal battle that temporarily halted filming on the show.

While Paul has not faced any charges in the spat, it was announced days before the news of the spinoff that neither she or Mortensen would be included in filming of the upcoming season.

A source told People that Paul "has the option" to return, however, decided against it, although the insider noted that she may make a guest appearance.

"She's receiving strong support from the cast and producers but is focusing on her kids and mental health issues and recovery from an abusive relationship. She's doing great, and realizing how abusive her relationship actually was," the source said.

Paul, 31, and Mortensen, 33, were locked in a bitter legal battle for weeks, after it emerged in March that the pair had been involved in a domestic violence incident the previous month—news that prompted ABC to yank the reality TV star's season of "The Bachelorette" from the air just hours before it was due to premiere.

Just weeks ago, a judge has ruled that Mortensen must stay at least 100 feet away from Paul until their next court hearing on April 30, while also barring him from contacting her by phone or email. He has also been told he cannot go to Paul's Utah home.

However, the same judge, Third District Court Commissioner Russell Minas, also ruled that Mortensen will continue to have temporary custody of their 2-year-old son, Ever, with Paul given up to eight hours of supervised visitation per week.

"I have concerns going both ways," Minas said after reviewing the duo's dueling petitions, in which Paul describes Mortensen as an "abusive individual," according to the New York Times, which obtained the documents.

"I am not perfect," Paul wrote in her personal declaration. "I have owned my mistakes, but Dakota is an abusive individual who refuses to take accountability."

Meanwhile, Mortensen has accused Paul of choking him during an altercation that he says took place at her home. He alleges that she also attacked him inside his truck the following night.

He has requested that the court switch his short-term temporary restraining order into a long-term order.

Paul and Mortensen are set to appear in court on April 30 to defend their reasoning for a permanent restraining order.

Paul's lawyer, Eric Swinyard, told Minas that they plan to "have a showdown on the 30th," to which the commissioner replied, "Hopefully it won't be a showdown. I'm hoping you can come to some resolution."

Lawyers for both Paul and Mortensen recalled alleged incidents, some of which were captured on video.

Swinyard recounted what has become known as "the truck tussle," an incident in late February that saw Mortensen claiming that Paul threw a drink at him while they were arguing in a truck, in an attempt not to wake the children, who were sleeping in Paul's home.

However, Paul's lawyer claimed that Mortensen slammed her head into the dashboard and punched her in the leg as he shared images of her bruises.

That argument and others are under investigation by the police.

Mortensen's lawyer, Daniela Diaz, claimed that Paul has repeatedly used their son to get her ex to come back to her.
