The Block 2025 Episode 14 recap: Han and Can are in trouble with Dan, and other contestants

4 days ago 15

It was all going so well – contestants were getting along swimmingly, nobody had threatened to storm off the show and nobody had been caught flirting with someone else’s husband.

But by the tone of this episode – featuring teams working on their main bedroom and walk-in robes – the drama-free atmosphere is about to take a turn.

It’s blindingly obvious that the Block is lining Can and Han up to be if not the villains, then at least villain-adjacent.

It starts with the girls whispering to themselves that they sense the other teams were surprised they played their bonus point to win for their main ensuite last week.

Then it’s on to a congenial dinner in Sonny and Alicia’s caravan, attended by all teams except Can and Han, who were invited but declined.

All the teams except Han and Can squeeze into Sonny and Alicia’s caravan for dinner.

“The girls like to keep to themselves. They’re pretty laser focused I guess,” Sonny said. “I think it would help them to sit around with us. It would help them realise everyone is fighting the same battles every day.”

Taz put it the same way.

“They just keep to themselves so we don’t know much about them and they don’t know much about us,” he said.

Next up is Dan confronting Han about the fact the girls have now missed three of the compulsory morning site meetings.

“Because it’s your third time we’re going to shut the site down. You have to be at prestart,” Dan told Han.

“Alright, what does that mean? How long?” was Han’s apparently unbothered response.

In later interviews geologist Han was at pains to accept responsibility.

“I understand. It’s a safety meeting. If you miss it in my line of work the same goes,” she said.

Later in the episode the losing contestants met for dinner while Han and Can were at their winners’ night away with Scott Cam and were shocked when Sonny revealed they didn’t even tell Tom that they’d won.

Former contestant and now official Block plumber Tom had been brought in to help Can finish what became the week-winning main ensuite when Han was struck down for four days with stomach inflammation.

Dan confronts Han over missing the third mandatory morning safety meeting of the show.

Tom only found out the room he’d helped create won when Sonny told him.

“Geez, it would have been nice if they’d rung me to tell me,” was Tom’s reaction.

“In my opinion it was poor taste,” was Mat’s view. “They were in need, he got them across the line and they didn’t call him to say thank you. If you don’t water your garden it’s not going to grow. You need to invest in the people who invest in you. That doesn’t fly well with me.”

There was also some mild eyebrow raising between Mat, Alicia, Emma and Britt, when Can

failed to respond to an email invitation to join them all for a Melbourne shopping trip.

“I didn’t actually know it was happening until they all got back,” Can said. “I am terrible at checking my emails. It obviously came through and I didn’t see it.”

But some of that ill-feeling seemed to infect the usually sunny best mates Robby and Mat too, when they showed the first signs of narkiness with one another.

Mat had taken over the budget after Dan warned Robby that he wasn’t saving enough money each week to pay for the secret wine cellar the pair are installing.

Dan’s team had already started digging the hole but with Mat and Robby going over budget each week, he was worried about being paid.

“If Mat and Robby can’t pay, we’ll stop work and they’ll be left with a hole in the ground,” he said.

Robby and Mat in a rare moment of narkiness.

Robby was unmoved, and told Dan that with plenty of weeks left to go for himself and Mat to win some rooms he should get off his back.

Mat was unimpressed and believed Robby wasn’t taking the issue seriously, at which point Robby bit back and responded: “Mate, you designed the kids’ room and we got the worst score in the world so move on.”

A visibly hurt Mat bites back.

“You know what, you don’t have to be nasty. You were part of that as well, Rob. When you get defensive you throw me under the bus when we’re meant to be a team.”
