Real estate agents across Melbourne will auction homes and donate their professional fees this weekend to raise money for charities helping people facing barriers to education.The Nelson Alexander real estate group is holding its annual Foundation Day fundraising event this Saturday, where each of its 16 offices will support a cause that’s special to their local community.Nick West, real estate agent and director at Nelson Alexander, told realestate.com.au that the annual event was an important milestone for the team.“Each year we choose a theme, and this year it’s ‘building blocks for brighter futures,’ which is about supporting people who face barriers to education – young people, those returning to work, or anyone who’s disadvantaged,” he said.“Each of our offices nominates a property, and we donate the entire sales fee from that auction to a locally nominated charity or person in need.”The Alannah & Madeline Foundation’s Children Ahead program, the Royal Children’s Hospital Foundation – Children's Bioethics Centre, and the Guide Dogs Victoria – Early Childhood Service are among this year’s fundraising recipients.Mr West said the entire team would wear foundation apparel ins...
