The 9400-home rezoning plan set to shake up Sydney’s east

A proposed new Woollahra station could anchor thousands of new apartments, more open space and improved walking paths under a new draft plan. The proposal comes as the NSW government plans for Sydney to accommodate at least 800,000 additional homes and 950,000 more jobs by 2046. The state’s Sydney Plan directs more housing towards established areas in the east, close to jobs, public transport and essential services, while identifying western Sydney as a major focus for economic growth.
