Termite-riddled Qld home heads to auction with inspections banned over safety fears

The deceased estate on the Gold Coast includes a 5.18ha parcel of land in Mudgeeraba with a three-bedroom rundown home. The house is on a huge 5.18ha parcel of land in the Gold Coast Hinterland. But prospective buyers cannot enter the house. “We’ve been advised by solicitors not to allow people into the house and not to do open homes,” said marketing agent Rhys Burgess of Ray White Robina. “It’s been eaten by termites and everything has been damaged but the brick.” The property is set to go to auction on October 24, when it’s expected to sell under the hammer. “I’m confident it will sell,” Mr Burgess said. “The vendors are thinking not about what prices used to be but rather what’s right in front of us. “The highest offer will take it which is a nice scenario to be in when the market is quite sticky.” The property is going to auction October 24.
