Sydney’s pest hotspots revealed

Sydneysiders are just weeks away from a Spring pest explosion, with new research revealing pest activity more than doubles in the coming months. The hotspots across Sydney for the worst offenders have been revealed with cockroaches, spiders, ants and wasps all moving above their annual average across Spring. While it was humid coastal locations that bred cockroaches, it was the leafy streets of freestanding timber houses that were the worst for termites. The research by Pest2Kill analysed 99,599 Sydney pest treatments spanning more than a decade and found that spider inquiries increase 5.5 times between August and November. Across the beachside eastern suburbs, 64.8 per cent of inquiries concern cockroaches, followed by the inner east at 60.2 per cent, whereas on the upper north shore this figure is less than half the rate, falling to around 30 per cent.
