Spring surprise: 8 Qld suburbs set to defy the property slowdown

New research has identified eight suburbs across Rockhampton, Townsville, Toowoomba and Logan where prices are still climbing strongly heading into the traditional spring selling season, despite softer conditions across the broader market. Darling Heights in Toowoomba recorded the biggest annual increase, with its median house price surging 23 per cent to $775,000. Spring selling season is underway and sellers in some suburbs still stand to benefit. Rockhampton is another standout, with Berserker prices jumping 22 per cent to $526,000 and neighbouring Allenstown up 21 per cent to $520,000. Homes in both suburbs are being snapped up in about a fortnight, with median days on market of just 13 and 14 days respectively, according to InvestorKit research.
