SA Government offloads land left over from intersection upgrade

Lots 390, 396 & 397 Marion Rd, Brooklyn Park. The South Australian government is selling off three high-exposure properties “left over’’ after an $85m road upgrade. The separate sites, totalling a combined 4186sqm along Marion Road, were originally part of 14 homes and businesses partially or fully acquired by the state government in 2023 for the upgrade of the intersection at Sir Donald Bradman Drive and Marion Road. At the time, residents and business owners spoke of their devastation of being forced from their properties. One family of six said the money offered by the government to compulsorily take its newly built home was not enough to find a comparable residence and their only option was to live in a single room at the back of their shop.
