Following an announcement earlier this year that it was hosting “The Big Pitch” mortgage tech contest, Rocket Pro unveiled three technology prototypes developed from ideas submitted by mortgage brokers at its Rocket Pro Experience (RPX) event on Tuesday. The initiative marked a shift from last year’s event, when Rocket Pro showcased technology it had developed for brokers, including Pro Navigate. This year, the company asked brokers to identify problems they wanted technology to solve and pitch a solution. The response included hundreds of submissions from Rocket Pro partners and brokers, some of whom do not currently work with the company, Austin Niemiec, chief revenue officer of Rocket Mortgage, told HousingWire ahead of the announcement. “Instead of guessing what technology brokers need or what problems they need solved, we just went right to them and asked them,” Niemiec said. Rocket Pro narrowed the submissions to three finalists and paired each broker with its technology and product teams.
