Retired emergency-room-doctor-turned-developer Joseph Englanoff is once again trying to part ways with two of his over-the-top Los Angeles-area estates, bringing both opulent dwellings back to the market for the eye-watering total price of $167.95 million.
The first of the two properties—a nine-bedroom spec mansion featuring a hookah lounge, 30-person Jacuzzi, sand volleyball court, panic room, and shoeshine station—is now on the market for $68 million, a steep discount from the $72.5 million it was initially listed for in February 2023.
The other, which is a nine-bedroom estate known as La Fin, features a 1,000-bottle wine cellar, a cigar lounge, an "ice-cold" vodka tasting room, and a fitness center with rock climbing wall. It is now on the market for the even higher price of $99.95 million—an ask that has helped it to sparkle its way to the top spot of the week's most expensive homes list.
But while its latest price tag is still mind-boggling, it is a far cry from the $139 million it was first listed for in November 2022. Indeed, the combined price for both dwellings is now $43.6 million less than it was when they both appeared on the market for the first time.
Located 5.5 miles from each other, the astonishing properties offered for a combined eye-watering $167,950,000 could be purchased as a legacy compound for buyers seeking multigenerational properties.
Each of the properties is offered separately and according to the listing, the "seller accepts crypto!"
More jaw-dropping estates to make the week's most expensive homes list include a full-floor penthouse in San Francisco's tallest residential tower, a 10-bedroom residence in New York, and a 615-acre ranch in Texas offered for the first time.
