The Real Brokerage Inc. has received final court approval in British Columbia for its proposed acquisition of REMAX Holdings, moving the cross-border brokerage merger a step closer to closing, according to an announcement on Friday. The companies said they anticipate the merger to close on Monday, Aug. 24, but that it is still subject to the satisfaction or waiver of remaining closing conditions. The arrangement is one component of the broader transaction outlined in the arrangement agreement and plan of merger first announced in late April and amended in June between Real and REMAX Holdings. Shareholders of both companies approved the combination at separate special meetings on Aug. 14, 2026. The transaction still requires the completion of customary closing conditions. However, the deal has already been green lighted by the Department of Justice (DOJ). In mid-July, the DOJ granted the companies an early termination of their Hart-Scott-Rodino (HSR) Antitrust Improvements Act waiting period for the proposed merger.
