Queensland suburb shoots past $20k for a single square metre of unit space

Picture: Nigel Hallett A square unit of property can now cost more than $20,000 in Queensland’s most expensive suburb, with suburb prices across the state rising by up to 59.9 per cent. New data from REA Group found a unit in the Sunshine Coast suburb of Noosa Heads would set you back by this high price point, thanks to buyers paying a premium for water views. Brisbane’s median house price per sqm jumped 14.4 per cent over the last year, while units went up 16.9 per cent. REA Group Data found Brisbane’s median house and unit prices to be up 14.4 per cent ant 16.9 per cent from last year, well ahead of the national figure. But while Greater Brisbane and the Gold Coast dominated the most expensive suburbs, regions like Ipswich, Logan and Townsville surged ahead in yearly growth.
