Queensland has claimed the unwanted title of Australia’s biggest housing black spot state, as new modelling reveals the state is 30,000 homes behind demand. Analysis of ABS data has found the Sunshine State holds a shocking 40 per cent of the nation’s suburbs failing to meet the housing approvals they need. Regional Gladstone had the biggest black spot in the state, while Brisbane was dragged down by Robertson, Red Hill, Sunnybank, Albion and Windsor. New ABS research has found Queensland has 40 per cent of Australia’s suburbs falling short of much-needed housing approvals, a whopping 30,000 homes behind demand. The study was commissioned by Bolst Property Group to help track where Australia needed to improve to meet future housing targets.
