As if they don’t have enough on this weekend, Olympic gold medallist Ariarne Titmus’ family are seeing her take on the world in Paris, have an open home plus an apartment up for rent.

Ahead of a massive campaign to bring back medals from Paris 2024, the champion swimming family have their Gold Coast escape up for rent and the girls’ cherished childhood home in Brisbane up for sale.

Ms Titmus’ parents – Channel 7 newsreader Stephen Titmus and his wife Robyn – are among hardcore sporting families who have flocked to France to cheer on the national team – with McCrindle Research finding swimming the sport most Aussies are looking forward to at this year’s games.

Mrs Titmus told The Courier-Mail when they put the family home in Chelmer up for sale in the midst of Olympic build-up that it was like “eating an elephant – one bite at a time”.

Their custom built Brisbane home in blue chip suburb Chelmer – complete with a pool fit for an Olympic champion – will be open for inspection at 12.30pm on Saturday July 27, which is about eight hours after the opening ceremony is due to be broadcast in Australia (4.24am AEST on Saturday).

The Titmus family will be in the throes of Olympic fever by then but their real estate agent Ann-Karyn Fraser of Place Estate Agents New Farm will run interested families through the stunning four bedroom home. She has the property listed for sale priced over $2.35m.

It’s not the only real estate transaction underway for the family with their Gold Coast escape also put up for rent given the Olympics are set to run through to August 11 and the family expects to take a well-deserved break afterwards.

The Titmus family bought the two bedroom, two bathroom apartment at Main Beach almost two and a half years ago to cut out hours Mr Titmus would spend commuting between Brisbane and his Channel 7 newsreader job on the coast.

The apartment has been listed for rent at $950 a week by real estate agent David Sheekey of Main Beach Property Sales, with one of its key features being direct views of the beach and ocean.

“Literally just across the road from the endless sandy beach and only a short stroll to trendy Tedder Ave with its boutique shops, restaurants and cafes,” is how Mr Sheekey described it.

Their Olympic gold medal winning daughter Ariarne already owns an apartment in Queensland’s most expensive suburb Teneriffe and younger daughter Mia Titmus is set to make her alternative arrangements if the family home sells soon.

“It’s a bit like coming home to a resort,” Mrs Titmus said. “You can completely switch off. Because we live such hectic lives, it’s really been a sanctuary to be able to come home to, relax in and obviously raise a couple of girls at the same time,” Mr Titmus said.
