The Queensland suburb offering affordable treechanges for first-home buyers

Nestled in bushland yet within easy reach of everything, the new South Place community offers the perfect balance of peace and proximity.

It’s also set to totally transform the local area, introducing not only an extensive range of new dwellings but an abundance of amenities and a bustling town centre, too.

With the first two stages under construction and the sixth about to be released, it’s an optimal time to secure a South Place spot of your own.

Those that love green spaces will be flocking to South Place.

Stage five coming soon

South Place will be a vibrant neighbourhood filled with architect-designed homes, great amenities and a friendly community.

Across the entire development, there will be 900 homes and a range of designs, colour schemes and floor plans to choose from.

Dwellings are generously sized with seamless indoor/outdoor flow and come with a range of sustainable measures to ensure minimal impact on the surrounding environment.

The first two stages at South Place are already under construction and due for completion in Q3 2024, whilst stage 5 will be releasing this month – giving prospective buyers the opportunity to secure land in an incredibly in-demand development.

“We’ve had terrific results at South Place, it’s encouraging to see a mix of buyers purchasing here,” said Lachlan Moore, Sales and Marketing Director at Moremac.

“We’re in a fortunate position to be able to release further stages just to meet demand.”

Stage 5 includes a mix of lot sizes ranging from 375sqm up to 715sqm.

First-home buyers can also enjoy substantial savings on stamp duty and take advantage of first-home buying incentives.

“There’s a lot of added incentives to purchase in Queensland courtesy of the current State Government initiatives, and that’s leading to an increase in enquiries to our team at South Place,” added Moore.

“South Place provides a range of purchasing options to suit various budgets and astute purchasers are leveraging things like the First Home Buyers Grant which was increased to $700,000 in the latest budget announcement.

“We’re seeing a lot of people taking advantage of these initiatives to gain their foothold into the market.”

The location makes it a fantastic option for buyers.

Amenities galore

Stage five sits in the northwest corner of the development, surrounded by verdant bushland and offering easy access to all of South Place’s amenities.

The focus here is on the natural environment to take advantage of South Place’s beautiful setting and encourage residents to spend time in the great outdoors.

There are around 40 acres of reserves and parkland across the development, filled with over 2000 native plant species, purpose-built walking and cycling trails, playgrounds, sporting grounds, barbecue and picnic areas and plenty of spots to soak up the scenery.

There will also be a neighbourhood civic centre encompassing a shopping village, eateries and a school, meaning residents will have everything they could possibly need practically on their doorstep.

A convenient retreat

Even though South Place feels like an idyllic retreat, it’s still within easy reach of Ipswich and Brisbane.

From Deebing Heights, Ipswich is just 10 minutes away, where residents can access a bigger selection of amenities including shopping centres, medical facilities and hospitals, schools, entertainment, cafes and restaurants, and much more.

Deebing Heights is also an excellent spot for those who need to commute to Brisbane: the city is located only 45 minutes away by car.

Given its accessibility and affordability, Deebing Heights is home to a large proportion of young professionals and families, with the majority of households here including children of all ages.

A suburb on the up

Unsurprisingly, the Ipswich region – including Deebing Heights – is becoming an increasingly popular place to live.

“Home prices in Brisbane have climbed almost 70% since the onset of the pandemic, and that strong growth has put Brisbane on par with Canberra as the second most expensive capital city,” says Eleanor Creagh, senior economist at PropTrack.

The amenities that make it a perfect place to live, work and relax in are already there.

“The Ipswich region remains one of the more affordable regions in Brisbane but is still within commuting distance of Brisbane CBD, so it’s potentially a good option for those looking for more affordable homes given the strong price growth that we've seen in Brisbane overall in recent years.”

However, Ms Creagh adds that Ipswich’s relative value for money may not last forever. Median house prices across the entire region are up more than 26% over the last 12 months and median house prices in Deebing Heights are up 11%.

“Ipswich is actually one of the fastest-growing regions in the country with respect to annual home price growth at the moment,” she says.

“We're continuing to see strong growth in home prices in Ipswich and strong demand for those homes that are relatively affordable.”
