Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has been accused of “gaslighting” Australians with claims about the impact of his housing policies. Mr Albanese recently posted a video extolling some of the recent market improvements that have resulted from decisions to wind back negative gearing tax concessions and reform capital gains tax. The changes have helped give “first-home buyers a crack” and are “boosting housing supply”, Mr Albanese claimed in the video, while waving a piece of paper with new data he said Aussies “need to see”.
