Overgrown hoarder home sells for top dollar

A Killarney Heights home sold over the weekend. A crumbling house in Sydney’s north – once home to an alleged hoarder reported to have been forced to live in a tent outside because of the excessive clutter indoors – has changed hands at auction for a sum close to $1.8m. The rundown home in Killarney Heights had been thrust into the media spotlight back in 2012 when the owner was taken to the Land and Environment Court over complaints that hoarded items around the property were a threat to public health and safety. The home appeared to be cleared out before being listed for sale, with realestate.com.au figures revealing it was the most clicked NSW property scheduled for auction last week. Selling agency Asetimi Property would not disclose the sale price, but an industry insider connected to the area said it was $1.81m.
