Hollywood star Orlando Bloom is making another attempt to sell his longtime Malibu beach mansion — relisting the property at a significant discount, just a few weeks after it was taken off the market.
The 49-year-old Pirates of the Caribbean star purchased the home for just $3.5 million ($US2.5 million) in 2011, when he was still married to supermodel Miranda Kerr, whom he split from in 2013, Realtor reports.
Kerr highlighted during the interview how she and her ex are now “great friends.”
Moments before, she had texted him “Happy Birthday,” and he responded with gratitude.
“He told me thank you to me for being such a wonderful mother to Flynn and a great friend to him and that how grateful he is to have me in his life,” she shared.
Following their divorce, Bloom held onto the palatial pad, making multiple upgrades to the property over the years, with the listing now describing it as having been “restored and reimagined by renowned artist and furniture designer Roy McMakin.”
However, in March of this year, the actor made the decision to offload the home, bringing it to the market for $17 million ($US12 million), a price that was then lowered to $16.3 million ($US11.4 million) just a few weeks later. The five-bedroom abode was then delisted on June 23.
On July 17, Bloom then returned the home to the market for the much lower price of $14.2 million ($9.9 million) — while simultaneously offering it up for rent with an ask of $50,000 ($US35,000)-a-month, as first reported by TMZ.

The stunning waterfront estate comes complete with four bedrooms, three and a half bathrooms.
“Set just above the sand on a private gated street in Western Malibu, this approximately 5,000-square-foot mid-century residence is a rare blend of architectural significance, and privacy,” the listing, which is held by Carl Gambino of The Gambino Group at Compass, describes.
Upon entering the property, guests are greeted with an expansive floor plan that is accentuated by the bright furniture and unique ceiling structures.
The living space features a cozy fireplace and access to the direct ocean views.
Though Bloom has carried out significant renovations to the dwelling in the 15 years since he bought it, the description makes clear that all updates were executed with careful consideration of its original 1974 design.
“The five-bedroom home preserves its original post-and-beam character while introducing custom millwork, cabinetry, tile, built-ins, and furnishings designed specifically for the property,” adds the listing.

This theme continues in the bathrooms, which are all different colours, including yellow and blue. The bathrooms boast large soaking tubs and chic vanities.
Each of the bedrooms are the epitome of elegance and have enough space for kingsize beds.
“A glass-and-timber gym, barrel sauna, outdoor soaking tub, multiple covered terraces, five-car garage, and parking for four additional vehicles complete the property,” reads the listing.
The outside of the property comes complete with lush greenery, direct beach access, and advanced security.

The listing comes mere weeks after the actor’s former Beverly Hills mansion was offered up as a luxury rental, with a hefty asking price of $44,000 ($US31,000) a month — with many of the Hollywood star’s custom upgrades still found throughout the elegant and modern dwelling.

Bloom snapped up the four-bedroom, four-bathroom property in 2017 for $10 million ($US7 million), then made his first attempt to sell it just two years later, listing it for $12.1 million ($US8.49 million).
However, it would be several years and multiple price cuts before the actor managed to offload the property — ultimately breaking even with a $10 million ($US7 million) sale.
Now, the home’s latest owner is trying their luck on the rental market, where the opulent abode is being offered for $44,000 ($US31,000) a month.
For that price, a lucky tenant will gain access not only to a slice of life in one of California’s most exclusive communities, but also to a taste of Bloom’s personal style.
“Nestled in the prestigious Trousdale Estates in Los Angeles, this impeccably designed contemporary estate is a masterpiece that showcases breathtaking city and ocean views, embodying unparalleled quality and sophistication,” read the rental listing, which is held by Jennifer Winston of Compass.
The home, which was built in 1959, was sold to Bloom by Mexican architect Miguel Angel Aragonés, who had expanded and enhanced the property’s midcentury modern architecture during his ownership.
However, after moving in, the Pirates of the Caribbean star carried out an extensive overhaul of the dwelling, adding a new zero-edge pool with an ipe wood deck, which is understood to have cost $714,000 ($US500,000) to install, as well as an outdoor entertaining area with built-in seating and a fire pit.
Bloom also opened up the floor plan, expanding the kitchen and allowing in more natural light. He added bespoke Poliform fixtures and finishes as well as indoor LED lighting.
