A massive outer-suburban mega-mansion so large its owners converted the tennis court to play pickleball has hit the market with a $3.995m-$4.3945m price guide.

The six-bedroom estate at 15-16 Wiringa Close in Narre Warren North is built to function as a private resort, with a cinema, two kitchens, a wet bar, pool, vehicle hoist and multiple outdoor entertaining areas.

Sellers Michelle and Richard Gross bought the home about six years ago, drawn to its scale, build quality and ability to give family members their own space.
But Ms Gross said she was not immediately sold on the home’s grand facade.

“It made too much of a statement for me, but we loved the quality of the build, the size of the home, the games room and the alfresco area,” Ms Gross said.

“We had dual living; our son lived with us but had his own garage, access and privacy.”

The spa adds to the private-resort feel at the massive six-bedroom Narre Warren North home.

The games room includes a pool table and wet bar, making it one of several entertainment zones inside the home.

The couple went on to make the home even more lifestyle-focused, adding a pool and converting the existing tennis court into a pickleball court.

“It didn’t have a pool, and we felt it wasn’t a true lifestyle property without one, so we put one in,” Ms Gross said.

“We also converted the tennis court to a pickleball court.

“We are big pickleball players; as a tennis court we barely used it, but converting it to a pickleball court we used it a lot more.

“One of our favourite memories is our pickleball New Year’s Eve party, as well as our Christmases with extended friends and family.

“It has indoor-outdoor flow all year round, making it an entertainer’s home.”

The grand facade makes a major first impression, though vendor Michelle Gross said the floor plan and build quality won her over.

One of several living spaces inside the home, which was designed for large family gatherings and entertaining.

The property has four bedrooms with walk-in wardrobes and ensuites, six bathrooms, two powder rooms, two laundries, three double garages and a workshop shed fitted with a vehicle hoist.

There are also several living zones, allowing the home to handle large gatherings, extended family stays and separate household routines.

The fully gated estate sits on about 3999sq m in a quiet pocket close to Lysterfield Lake, with schools including Harkaway Hills College and Sidrah Gardens School nearby.

The residence spans about 1200sq m of floor space, with six bedrooms, six bathrooms, two kitchens and two laundries.

The owners converted the tennis court into a pickleball court after finding they barely used it for tennis.

Ray White Ferntree Gully agents Brendan Milner and Jack Rickard are handling the sale.

Mr Milner said the home’s size and amenity made it a rare offering for the area.

The vendors said the neighbourhood had also been one of the home’s quiet surprises.

“The neighbourhood is really lovely and there is a neighbourhood WhatsApp group where we all look out for each other,” Ms Gross said.

“You see kangaroos when you drive out in the morning, which is really lovely.

“If it weren’t for our fence the property would probably be full of kangaroos.”

But after years of hosting family and friends at the entertainer’s estate, the couple are preparing to downsize.

The gated estate is designed around indoor-outdoor entertaining, with a pool, alfresco areas and converted pickleball court.

The home has two kitchens, giving the massive entertainer enough space for extended family and large gatherings.

Mr Gross has retired as a flight instructor, and the pair plan to spend more time in Queensland.

“However, it’s too big for us and it’s the type of property that should be lived in by people who love to entertain,” Ms Gross said.
